We currently ship to all locations within the UK. Unfortunately we are unable to ship internationally right now.
As a general rule of thumb we try to drop off orders at the post office within 2 working days of receiving the order. For first class orders, you should receive your order the next day after posting. For second class parcels, they should take 2-3 days to reach you after posting.
Local pick up books can be collected once you receive an email from us confirming the book is ready for collection. We aim to have the book ready by the next business day.
Please note, we are closed on Monday’s and Tuesday’s, so any orders placed during these times will take a few days longer to process.
Absolutely! We are always happy to order in books that we do not stock, as long as we are able to source it (it needs to be available in the UK, for example) and that it falls in line with The Feminist Bookshop values- which you can find in our mission statement here.
Please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and provide the name and author of the book you would like to order and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
We love hearing from authors so please do get in touch with us here if you would like to send us a proof of a book that you have written. Please include information about the specifics of the book, stock and suppliers etc.
However, because we are a very small bookshop we have to be selective about which books we choose to stock. Our aim is to prioritize underrepresented voices (authors of colour, queer and marginalized people). However, even if your book meets these requirements, this does not guarantee that your book will be stocked as unfortunately space is very limited.
Sorry we are currently not accepting any more art submissions.
Please feel free to email us about your art and if we have the capacity to stock it, we will bear you in mind. We try to support creatives in all that we do.

You can choose from 1 month, 3 month, 6 month or 12 month subscription! We alternate between fiction and non-fiction each month - you can also sign up to recieve books bi-monthly if ficton/non-fiction is not your forte!
You can also purchase our book in store and recieve discounted entry into our bookclub event at the end of the month.
Alternatively, you can always just purchase a ticket for the bookclub event if you already have the book.
In the rare case that you may already have the book we have chosen for our bookclub, we unfortunately can't offer any refunds or returns. However, you can always gift your bookclub book to a friend and both join us for free at the booklcub event.
If you would like us to host an event for you, whether that is based around a book or theme that fits with the bookshop’s values, please pop our event's manage Sophie an email here email@example.com. Please try to include as much detail as possible (author, book, possible dates, requirements etc.)
As we are a small team and relatively busy, our availability can be quite limited and our schedule usually fills up a couple of months in advance.

Our bookshop is located on 48 Upper North Street in Brighton, BN1 3FH.
Unfortunately we are not currently serving any food, but we do serve a wide selection of hot and cold drinks which can be enjoyed either to takeaway or to sit in. If you are looking for some post-book shopping food, however, we highly recommend vegan-friendly ‘Nowhere Man’ which is just a few doors down from us!
We are a very small bookshop and coffeeshop, so seating is reserved for customers who have purchased a drink or book from us.
Due to limited space, we kindly ask for laptop users to limit laptop use to 45 minutes (to make sure other people can enjoy the space too!)
We currently do not provide WiFi for customer use, in an attempt to encourage discussion, conversation and good old fashioned reading!
Absolutely, as long as the dog is kept on a lead or is not disruptive to other customers.
Bring in your puppies! We also accept well behaved cat visitors too.
Our gift vouchers each come with a unique QR code. If you plan to use it in-store, simply bring in the voucher and hand it over to the member of staff as you go to pay, and they will handle the rest! If you wish to use it online, simply type the 12-character code displayed beneath the QR code into the relevant box during checkout.
You can! Simply search ‘Gift voucher’ using our search function on our website, and you can either select a digital voucher or a physical one which comes with a card.
For the digital voucher, simply select the amount you would like on the card (minimum £5), and the digital voucher will be sent to the email address you provide upon checkout.
For the physical voucher, select the amount you would like on the card, and if you would like to leave a note in the card, please do so in the ‘Order notes’ box during checkout. You can choose to ship this physical gift card either directly to the recipient’s address, or alternatively we can mail it to you if desired.
